"The hospital never told me I'd had a stroke"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Stroke care (Ward 17, 31, 36) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Stroke care (Wards 68)

(as the patient),

I was let go from hospital in Glasgow last week and both my husband and I were told that all my doctors have been informed and that the details are on these five pieces of paperwork on which I was informed that on my previous admission to the QEUHG nearly 2 years ago that I had had a stroke then, and here was I having had another stroke and that is how I found out and I am trying to digest all of this and do t really know what I must be doing.

Dear Murph1

Thank you for getting in touch via Care Opinion.

I am disappointed to read about the way that you found out about the stroke, this is not the standard of care that we should be delivering to our patients. Please accept my apologies.

Would you mind getting in touch with your personal details so that we can look into this further for you and address your concerns? My email address is Nicole.McInally@ggc.scot.nhs.uk and I would be grateful if you could include your username.

Many thanks

Nicole
