Having had several operations and procedures on my left leg to correct a club foot and the complications arising from original surgeries back in Sunderland, I was experiencing more and more pain and struggling to walk even to the shops at times which for a 24 year old man is very upsetting, however I was given a self-referral to the MSK team, who decided it was best to be seen by a consultant here at York Hospital. From my initial appointment with MSK in January, to being seen by the AMAZING consultant in early February, having an MRI the following month, advised that it was arthritis I was suffering from, and that they could give me a steroid injection and if it works I can then have my ankle fused to help even more is simply amazing and far better care than Sunderland hospital have given me. I am having my steroid injection in 2 days time and am very very impressed with the super short waiting time considering the amount of pressure the NHS is currently under. Everyone I have seen from radiographers, to nurses, to receptionists and of course the consultants have been amazing and all deserve recognition for their care!
