"Fantastic care in RACH"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Accident & Emergency (Emergency Care)

(as a service user),

Recently my youngest son (age 5) swallowed 15 magnetic balls, and my husband turned up at children’s A& E without a phone call first as we knew it was urgent. They were seen very promptly, and transferred to the Surgical Ward in RACH after an X-Ray. I arrived soon after, and would like to commend all the staff we met with. The anaesthetist, the doctors, theatre staff and of course the ward nurses and students were all amazing, we were kept well informed and reassured throughout the whole stay and my son was involved in all discussions which I thought was brilliant. Every effort was made to keep him (and us! ) calm, and I just wanted to thank everyone who looked after us during our short stay!

Dear MummyOf3

Wow that is some feat he achieved to swallow 15 balls. I am always amazed by some of the things children do. You must have been so worried.

So glad though that you were all well informed and reassured by the care you all received throughout his unexpected stay.

I will ensure that your kind words are passed on to all staff involved.

Thank you for taking time to feedback on care opinion

Kathryn
