"Nothing’s changed!!!"

so after my distasterous visit regarding my tonsillitis issue - which incidentally was seen and treated at another facility (thank you for nothing!) I had the horrific experience of requiring this service again when my 10 month old was spiking temperatures despite regular pain relief, lukewarm baths and fluid therapy as allowed with associated vomiting and had an ever spreading rash and becoming more lethargic and drowsy, took her in and explained everything the the reception staff who said they would get her temperature checked and take it from there. We expected that to happen within a reasonable time frame as she had an impressive rash and you could visibly see she was in discomfort and distress. After 1:15 and 2 enquiries by my husband later I got up to ask them when they were checking her temp (that was already over 39 when I took her there) to be told she still had a long while to wait. I queried with the male receptionist whether he thinks it’s at all appropriate that a baby of this age with a spiking temp, increasimg drowsyness and lethargy and spreading rash not having observations done within 1:15 was acceptable as I certainly don’t think it is, to be met by silence (which speaks volumes by the way). Apparently she didn’t get a priority place because they don’t do that -despite her ages and symptoms - my question is how do prioritise anyone if your taking 3 hours to do a triage - she could have had a convulsion by then! I said I was taking her to A&E who then referred her back to the walk in centre as they “deal with rashes”. Well that’s all well and good but who deals with the decreased GCS aspect because I’m certain the go would refer in to A&E. In the end we took her to another nhs facility who were absolutely amazing and had already seen a paeds consultant before I received a phone call from the urgent care centre who left a voicemail saying we were waiting to triage and any concerns to call 111. I have grave concerns about your service and that provided by A&E in Milton Keynes - it’s a complete joke and will certainly be advising people to avoid these places like the plague. Good job we have a decent GP is all I’m saying. Btw I’m still waiting for a response to my email asking for the process to make a formal complaint
