In 2015 during a course of investigations into why I was experiencing migraine headaches I was devastated to learn from blood tests that I had somehow contracted Hepatitis C, a notifiable disease, and I felt quite scared about this diagnosis.
I was referred to Dr Wright at Basildon Hospital and was immediately reassured by both him and his team, even though I did not receive treatment straight away due to the fact other patients were more seriously affected than me.
Towards the end of 2017 when my course of treatment started, the liver nurses were supportive throughout and I felt I could contact them at any time with any concern, which was important to me. I am very pleased to say that all the blood tests since finishing my course of treatment have been clear of Hepatitis C and I have only praise for Dr Wright and his team of liver nurses at Basildon Hospital and wish to thank them for their support throughout my treatment.
"Praise for the Hepatology Department"
