After having reoccurring early miscarriages and a late miscarriage I underwent testing at this hospital.
I have been diagnosed with Antiphospholipid syndrome or sticky blood. Having read up on this diagnosis it has become apparent that many women wait along time and suffer a lot of losses before being correctly diagnosed with this condition. We have been lucky that although our GP didn’t feel like we warranted referral for investigation Airedale believed differently.
We can’t thank Airedale enough for the way we have been treated. From the sonographer who went out of her way to get us a copy of the ultrasound picture after we’d been told our baby had died. I forgot to ask during the scan and she sent it through the post, ironically arriving the day I arrived home after surgery to remove the baby. Perhaps a small thing to her but not to us. The EPAU who treated me and my partner with compassion and dignity during our loss and the Gynaecology department for their investigations and diagnosis and clear plan for the future.
We now feel like we have a fighting chance of having our rainbow baby and most certainly would recommend this hospital. It may not be the closest to home but we feel the extra distance is certainly worth it for the care we have received.
