"Sunderland Paediatrics Day Care"

I just wanted to thank the Maritime Medway Sunderland Day Care Team who looked after my son yesterday whilst he was in for surgery. It is very daunting to experience such  a thing when you are only 8, but his mind was put at rest from the moment he entered the unit. With its child-centred approach, he felt like he was the most important person in the world and that his surgery was done 'with him' rather than 'to him'.

The staff on the ward made us all feel at ease, Sally played with him when he became restless and the very patient Sister was very responsive when he decided he was hungry after all ! The surgeon, Mr Desai, was extremely approachable and possesses an exemplary patient manner. The anethestist also took time to visit before and after his surgery to check all was ok.

We popped to the coffee shop to be served by very polite and cheerful staff and were greeted by a singing porter on our way back to the day care centre! The ward was spotlessly clean and we appreciated being able to see what our parking money went towards. 

Medway Maritime, you exceeded all expectations and I cannot thank you enough for the care and attention you gave to my whole family.
