"Thankful"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital / Maternity

I have recently give birth to a beautiful healthy baby boy at SRH, who I cannot thank enough.

During my pregnancy I worried things were not going right. I attended a clinic which a member of staff ran within Antenatal to monitor the well being and growth of my baby and I.

I cant thank this member of staff and her team enough, they gave me the support and reassurance everything was ok by arranging numerous amazing checks to ensure my baby and I were well and safe and offered different tips and advice regarding my diet etc. When my due date came this member of staff helped me move things on to allow me to meet my baby. Two days later my baby arrived naturally and absolutely perfect. Two amazing midwifes which helped me deliver, who were fantastic they kept me calm and guided me through my birth which was very much textbook with no issues.

Soon after I delivered the member of staff came to visit us and gave her love, I was ecstatic by this. The care and bedside manner is amazing and very professional.

Due to possible infection we stayed in hospital overnight and a lovely friendly midwife looked after us, she spent time to show us different feeding techniques and helped monitor my babies observations. I really appreciated this as all health checks helped to relieve my mind.

The experience and support I have recieved is amazing, totally inspiring. I have now decided to look into changing my career and also become a midwife. I want to give expectant mothers and their babies the experience and support I recieved.

I want to thank all midwifes that have helped me with my journey and wish them luck for their future.
