"Poor service after miscarriage."

About: Liverpool Womens Hospital

(as the patient),

I suffered a missed miscarriage which was diagnosed at dating scan. The sonographer showed very little empathy or sympathy or basic human nature. We were given very little information about our options and chose surgical management where I had to wait over 1 week to receive it.

On the day of surgery I was dealt with by someone who was the only positive thing to happen to me at this hospital, they were kind caring and compassionate but they really felt like the only one.

I waited over 7 hours for a planned surgery which was supposed to happen in the morning as they appeared to forget about me, my partner was given no info on my condition. I was given Misoprostol at 11:30 and suffered severe pains/contractions and was scared to miscarry waiting for surgery. I was not given any info on what to bring to my appointment so was left feeling silly in a hospital gown and trainers when everyone else had slippers and a comfortable dressing gown. Was given very little info on aftercare, what happens to me and my body next etc. Felt very let down by this hospital. Have made complaint with PALS and hope to get somewhere.
