We as a family started using Robin house from mid 2017 until our 2 year old daughter passed away 3 months later.
My husband and I spent a day together at Robin house before going for our first stay with our daughter and her big brother and straight away any fears I had were put at ease by the homely friendly surroundings.
I found the first stay very traumatic as I struggled with the word hospice and could not accept that my daughter was not going to get better. I wanted to leave and got very upset, the staff were so understanding and supportive and helped me to overcome those feelings.
After that I looked forward to our trips to Robin house and it made me feel safe and relaxed. Our daughter was cared for so well and it was obvious how much all the staff loved her. My 5 year old son was given so many play opportunities and thrived on all the attention. He saw Robin house as a happy place and wants to go back to visit.
When our daughter did pass, we were given so much time and the staff couldn’t have done more for us, they continued to help us make memories. We had a lot of family coming to visit and each and every one was treated with such love and compassion.
I can not say enough good things about Robin house, they made the hardest times that bit easier and our daughter smiled, blew kisses and high fived staff as soon as we walked through the doors. She was so happy and that’s all I wanted for her.
"Robin house made the hardest times that bit easier"
