On April 10th this year, my mom lost the ability to speak and had a vacant episode, my sister rang for an ambulance (that arrived within 4 minutes) and she was blue lighted to Heartlands Hospital with a query stroke. She was immediately taken for a CT scan and thrombolysis started very quickly once the CT was reviewed. The stroke nurse and the doctor present were nothing but amazing. They remained calm, allowed myself and my family to be present and offered explanations throughout. Without their fast treatment, who knows what disability my mom would now have.
Once stable, mom was transferred to the Hyper Acute Stoke Unit, where she was cared for with privacy and dignity, and whilst still suffering with dysphasia, she wasn't made to feel inadequate or silly when she was unable to communicate. Every nurse, Doctor, physio, cleaner, kitchen staff - whoever we came into contact with were so kind and lovely.
We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and highly recommend your services
(It states we cant name names unfortunately, so we cant thank you individually, but WOW, what a great team you are!)
"Excellent Care from admission to discharge"
