I attended a long awaited appointment to see a Gynocologist. I thought I would be understood, how wrong was I, I was met with patronising responses and almost a smirk not a empathetic smile.
I described my symptoms, which I've suffered from for 40 years every month.
I was offered nothing except the word depression. It doesn't take a Doctor to know the difference between PMDD and depression. I was not offered blood test to check my hormone balance, scan, even a simple pregnancy test to rule the obvious out from the outset.
I was upset, annoyed and left the clinic and said I was wasting my time. So I'm still none the wiser, I'm still suffering and my bloated stomach is not a sign of depression. I am NOT depressed. This is hormone related!
