"GP services book on the day only"

As a fit family of four we don't need health services that often but the few times a year when I try to get an appointment, we always struggle.

Today I was told that there are only services bookable on the day if you call at 8.30am.

I have tried this before and (if you have the time to sit on the phone) you are, more often than not, denied a service because all the appointments have gone before you can get through.

I asked if a nurse was available and apparently the practice no longer have a nurse practitioner.

This surgery is in a mess. No continuity of doctors (I have no idea who my doctor is anymore as the last few times we have visited, we've seen locums), the surgery is in a state of disrepair and the reception staff seem to have limited options open to them when discussing a patient's options.

Once again I've given up and I will go and queue at Wilberforce Health Centre in Hull; at least we will be seen.
