It is increasingly difficult for working people to see a doctor as employers are not always supportive of giving time off for an employee to sit in a waiting room for usually an hour plus to be seen. A whole morning can be lost in a walk-in clinic if you live some way from your place of work.
I have recently been forced into A&E as no appointments were available and was seen within 20 minutes.
I feel that the appointments would be better throughout the day and the walk in surgery at the end.
This allows workers to have a better idea of the time scale.
It is also almost impossible to see the same doctor treatment has begun with, lack of continuity seems to be the norm.
I also feel that Guiseley surgery is underused - not everyone has the means to get to Yeadon.
I appreciate that there has been significant building in recent years which puts a strain on services but you must be able to have some control on the number of patients you have on your books.
