"My experience of a fractured wrist and subsequent treatment."

About: Borders General Hospital / Accident & Emergency Borders General Hospital / Radiology Borders General Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics (Ward 9)

(as the patient),

I found myself in A&E with a badly damaged  wrist.  The receptionist was the first pleasant, helpful person I encountered.  Then Stuart, nurse practioner, appeared.  He was so pleasant and professional and the ideal person to take charge of this situation. Then Carston, a nice doctor, became involved.

2 days later  -
A lady Orthopaedic Registrar, whose name I unfortunately can't remember, had phoned me at home on more than one occasion, to arrange surgery for this day.
This organisation really impressed me.
Nurses in Ward 9 were very nice also the porter on the tea trolley had a nice manner.
I remember two Theatre nurses who were very kind and reassuring.  I don't know their names but one was due to have surgery herself so I hope they recognise themselves!
I visited the Plaster Room three times and the staff there were SO helpful and efficient.
Also deserving a mention - the receptionist at the front door and WVS staff.
Staff in Radiology  were also very pleasant.
