What I liked
I was treated as an intelligent being, my condition was clearly explained, as was the intended treatment, i.e. exploratory angiogram, if positively indicated, angioplasty & stent. I was conscious throughout procedure, which went accoring to plan - 3 angioplasties & stents done in fact!
What could be improved
Nothing - as good as any treatment I have had in the NHS (& there have been many at a variety of Hospitals, starting from 1992.) I am a great supporter of the NHS, having had a CABG (X 3)in 1992 (stb Thomas`, Tooting), 2 strokes in 1996 (treated at St Columcille`s, Dun Loaghare, Irish Republic), iguinal hernia repair 2004 (Bishop Auckland General, Co. Durham)splenectomy 2008 (due to Immuno Thrombocytopenia), simultaneous cholescystectomy, TURP 2009 (Darlington Memorial) , Right Dorsal Cheilectomy Righr Big Toe 2010 (Duirham Univesity Hospital), Angioplasty & Coronary Stents (X 3) 2011 (James Cook, Middlesbrough). Quite a list, most of which was dealt with by the South Durham NHS Trust
All staff throughout the system, including receptionists & GPs could not be more helpful & caring.
Anything else?
The quality of patient care, staff skill & cleanlines are outstanding throughout South Durham NHS Trust; congratulations to all concerned from a grateful & staisfied patient whose liofe has been hgreatly enhanced & extended.
"Absolutely outstanding in every respect!"
