"Visiting hours"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

My wife has recently given birth to a baby boy after a long and painful process and the birth was a success. I appreciate family and friends coming to visit the new addition to the family but my poor wife really wanted to rest but couldn't.

I believe the visiting hours are too long and some steps should be taken towards concentrating on how to benefit the patient. Personally I would recommend shorter visiting hours and split and divided to give patients a small break from all the excitement. I hope this comment benefits others and would support the NHS to do more for the patient.

Recommended visiting hours:

9:00am - 12:00 noon

2:00pm - 4:00 pm

6:00pm - 8:00pm

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about the visiting hours which are currently under review. I will share your comments with the attendees at the next Maternity Quality Improvement Forum in April and will update you if any changes are made as a result of your feedback.

Once again thank you for sharing your experience of our maternity service and congratulations on the birth of your baby boy.
