"Mixed experience for MRI Scan and Arthrogram on hip"

About: Woodend Hospital / Radiology

(as the patient),

The arthrogram part of the day was very unfamiliar to me. There’s only so much that a leaflet can tell you about a procedure. Dr Rose in the x-ray was really helpful and went into more detail about what I should expect. She, along with nurse Maureen and radiologist Erin (I think that was her name) made me feel at ease and Maureen wheeled me back through to the MRI room.

I was quite annoyed that I didn’t know much about the procedure before arriving (ie should’ve brought someone with me and what clothes to wear) as from the leaflet it seemed like a small injection.

If It wasn’t for Dr Rose and the team in the X-ray room, it would have been a truly negative experience.

Dear Muddles,

Thank you for your feedback. I will share with the team involved, I'm sure they will appreciate your kind words.

I am sorry the information you received on the leaflet was not very helpful. We will review the leaflet and amend accordingly so it better prepares patients and relatives for what to expect during the procedure.
