"Breast cancer care"

About: Solihull Hospital / Breast surgery

I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in Nov 2016 and have been under the care of the oncologist who has been wonderful and a surgeon who gives you time to process, ask questions and calm fears. I have undergone chemotherapy, radiotherapy, two surgeries and am now having three weekly injections at the breast care centre and take daily tablets. I cannot fault the care I have received. Staff have been amazing throughout, are caring and able to empathise. I am coming to the end of my journey now and my prognosis is very positive. I owe everything to the excellent care I have received even though at times they have been extremely busy and understaffed but still found the time to sit and chat with me and make me feel valued. I would tell anyone who finds themselves in my position to trust in the staff and they will do everything possible to make you well again.

Dear Patient,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding the care and treatment you have been receiving at Good Hope Hospital.

It is lovely to read, that although you have been through such a lot of treatment since November 2016, that you have had a good experience and that you are nearing the end of your journey, with a positive prognosis.

I shall forward your posting to the senior management team for Oncology and the Breast Care Team and ask that your posting is shared with the staff.

I am sure that the will be delighted to read your positive comments.

Once again, thank you for your posting as all feedback is important to us.

I wish you all the very best with your on-going treatment.

Miss J. Langham
