"Unprofessional, No respect, No sympathy..."

About: Leicester General Hospital

What I liked

Being with other patients in the same situation

What could be improved

I was 39 weeks pregnant and was admitted to ward 30 due to having raised bp and symptoms of pre-eclampsia, I was admitted for 3 days of which my bp was taken 6 times, this should of been monitored atleast 4 times a day. I was discharged after 3 days and told to come back the next day for induction which when i returned was not the case and i then had to go back after a further 2 days to be induced. Throughout the birth i was tretaed great once they knew i was actually a nurse myself. I then had to stay on the labour ward due to having to be treated for an infection. I had a catheter insitu, 2 cannulas and epidural aswell as being in pain after delivering baby via forceps and stitches from the front to back, As you can imagine i was very limited to movement. Staff members moved my baby girl to other side of room so i could not see or touch her, i was losing a large amount of blood, I asked a staff nurse to give me a quick wipe down as my legs and back and private areas were covered, she sent in 2 HCA's which when they came in refused to wash me so had to stay like this for several hours until i was moved back onto ward 30. I asked for my partner to come back to help with me and looking after my daughter and they refused saying they were too busy when infact this would of helped them out. I was very emotional at this time and recieved no sympathy or support.

Anything else?

Overall, as a nurse myself i am disgusted with how i was treatetd throughout my stay at LGH and when i have my next child this hospital will under no circumstances be considered.
