"Compassionate care for my beautiful wife"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as a relative),

My wife was admitted to the Waddington ward in Dec 2017 due to her lung cancer.

On the evening of Dec 10 my wife said to me "I don't feel too good Pete" & I called the nurse who came straight away & within seconds two doctors came to help with my wife but sadly I lost her within 3 minutes due to pulmonary embolism.

The staff who tried so hard to save her were so caring & professional especially Dr Tan who was so caring with my wife & with myself afterwards & I can never thank him enough for the care & first class bedside manner he showed us both.

Sometimes I just sit in my car outside the Waddington ward at Lincoln because I just feel closer to my wife when I'm there.

Dear Pete,

It was lovely talking to you this evening, thank you for your time. I felt compelled to speak to you after your emotive feedback on Care Opinion. How heartfelt and very brave of you to share your story Pete, thank you.

I have emailed Dr Tan and sent him a copy of the feedback as we discussed. I shall also share it with the team on Waddington.

You know where we all are, day or night if you need to talk to us.

Take care,

Marie
