"Given no time to decide on new medication"

About: Royal Gwent Hospital / Cardiology

(as a service user),

The doctor was running late, and made me feel rushed during the consultation. They were brusque in their attitude, and made me feel like I was "an awkward customer" because 2 drugs that had been tried, did not agree with me. Then almost accused me of taking too low a dose of anticoagulant. This was my G.P.who prescribed it,so hardly my fault!!

They were abrupt, and told me to decide there and then if I was going to try another tablet that was available,no time for thinking it over. (Not what I've experienced before with new meds) There was no follow up appt. suggested, just that I was being put on a waiting list for Cardio Version. My sister (a healthcare professional)  was with me and when the doctor returned with their prescription pad, they ignored me completely and addressed my sister!! Very rude. 2 weeks later & my G.P.still hasn't received a letter from the dept.
