"Caring call handler and lovely paramedics"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

My wife had a nasty fall down the stairs and banged her head on the front door. She was in great pain and I did not know what to do. She was conscious but had a large swelling to her head.

I phoned 999 and right from the word go the lady on the phone was really caring as she told me what to do in great detail. She said help would come and within half an hour an ambulance arrived and again the paramedics couldn’t have been more caring. They spoke to my wife and talked her through what had happened as they done tests on her and thankfully they said that all was well and that the accident appeared to be muscular as like a whiplash in a car.

Lovely caring people from the outset. Thank you soooooo much.

Dear Tigers,

Thank you for taking the time to send this feed back on your experience. I was really pleased to hear about how well the call handler supported you at what must have been a very distressing time and that the paramedics were so caring to your wife.

If you do want me to feed back to the staff concerned and you do not mind sharing your details with me I can be contacted on 0141 810 6101. I will of course understand if you do not wish to.

I hope that your wife is recovering well and thank you again for posting this.

Pat

Hi Tigers,

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us on Care Opinion. I hope that your wife is recovering well. Falling down the stairs can be very nasty and I am glad to read that the outcome was not as bad as it could have been.

We truly appreciate you taking the time to write up such kind words about our staff and its encouraging that the whole experience with the Service was deemed to be caring and professional.

I would like to share your comments with the staff and their managers from our crew to the call handler. If you would like me to do this, you can email me at scotamb.feedback@nhs.net. I would need to know your wife's name, the address that we attended, the date we attended and a rough time.

I wish you and your wife all the best!

Alan
