"An Outstanding Practice"

Whitchurch Surgery is an excellent, small practice. With three GP partners, it is usually possible to see a GP of your choice and with such a small, friendly team it is not difficult for them to understand your needs.

I have been impressed by the professionalism, attentiveness and effectiveness of the GPs, reception staff, dispensary staff and nursing team. During a recent period of illness, I have had to organise collection of a large number of sick notes, learn to use the online system, visit for appointments with nurses and GPs and have a series of GP telephone appointments.

All doctors' surgeries have to put systems in place to make best use of their time and I can honestly say that I have always be listened to and given good attention and treatment.

I have sat in the waiting room recently and watched how the reception staff deal with people coming in with various needs and demands; they always seem to me calm, polite and caring.

As patients, we need to be sure that we do not have face-to-face appointments when a telephone consultation will do and that the admin staff have lots of jobs to do and different people to deal with.

I congratulate the GPs and Practice Manager for running such a patient-centred practice. In such difficult times and circumstances for GPs, the NHS and patient services, it is so important that patients should celebrate the dedication of those who give so willingly their abilities, time and energy. I have complete trust in the clinical staff and their support teams and am grateful for the quality of treatment I receive. Thank you.
