"Wonerful, brillient, professional, clean..."

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

What I liked

The staff Doctors, Nurses, cleaners, porters etc were, without exception, fantastic. Food quality is always going to be questionable but the possibility of toast for breakfast would surely not be too much to ask for. That said this is a minor comment when compared with the professionalism and care shown to be during my fortunately brief stay. A big thank you to all, particularly to the A&E & CCU.

I am deeply grateful to all those involved with my care and while, I could not recommend hospitisation to anyone, QE2 was fantastic. Once again thank you.

What could be improved

Apparently the toaster was removed from CCU on "Health & safety" grounds because it set of the fire alarm the week before. Please give CCU a new toaster - somehow marmalade just isn't the same on bread & butter !

We're really glad that your experience of the QEII was so good - we'll make sure that our colleagues in A&E and the coronary care unit get to read your comments. As for toast, the issue is not putting toasters on wards but working with our catering teams to find a way of providing this service without ward staff risking fire alarms being set off - which, believe it or not, is a real problem. We'll ask the catering team to put their thinking caps on to come up with an alternative solution.
