After waiting over 3 months I finally saw a specialist in dermatology yesterday. I sat in the outpatients waiting room for about 45 minutes but the entire interaction with the dermatologist was no more than 5 minutes. I was treated very poorly. The dermatologist didn't look or pay any attention to my skin at all. She sat very far and didn't take anything I was telling her in to consideration. I feel like she completely ignored the symptoms I was telling her and only stuck with what the gp had said in the referral. She hesitated when I asked her what my skin condition was and why it occurred. She said she 'thinks' that it's rosacea but wasn't too sure. There wasn't any patient input allowed for what treatments I would have preferred either. Overall I'm extremely disappointed with the service. I didn't wait 3 months for such a poor experience. On top of this I have to wait another 3 months for a follow up appointment. This wasn't a professional experience at all. It didn't feel like I was in the care of a skin specialist but more just so another gp instead. I wiill not be recommending this hospital to anyone else with similar skin conditions in the near future.
"Extremely disappointed"
