What I liked
The Registrar during my initial consultation was helpful in spite of being obviously very stressed and not having much time.
What could be improved
Rude / indifferent / administrative staff; I was treated like a second class citizen.
Disorganised. My notes had not been transferred to endoscopy prior to a scheduled colonoscopy. Also the department was in turmoil when I was being preped for the procedure as they did not know who was going to do it and the gastroenterologist had not turned up. I was in tears and absolutely got no reassurance from staff.
Additionally, when I called up my specialist with queries due to serious complications I had, prior to a CT scan virtual colonoscopy examination, his secretary was very rude and interrupted me over and over again, and could not be bothered to ensure my message got through. Completely indifferent.
Highly frustrating when you are unwell and completely dependent on staff help.
I am aware this is state healthcare but there was absolutely no interest in patient welfare, I was treated with disrespect and rudeness during a difficult time.
"Dreadful; disorganised, rude admin staff..."
