"Paracetamol/Ibuprofen prescription"

About: Beckenham Beacon Ucc

We got the diagnose for my child condition and when requested for a prescription for the medicine the doctor recommended, they cannot give us one! I don’t want free medicine, but hey, I have a child too big for his age, haven’t been able to control his temperature, but doc couldn’t bother to check dosage or prescribe the paracetamol/Ibuprofen I must give him. And once he is ok for school, the school won’t give him any medicine unless prescribed, so he will remain unwell at school because the simplest prescription cannot be given. Very frustrating and upsetting! I bought the medicine, but if in 2 days he still might need a dose if unwell when back at school, he won’t be given any! Very very bad! If we can’t get the simple things, God help us if it’s complicated! Parents get caught between school and “hospital” policies that does nothing to really help us out. Having working people missing work because I need to stay close by if my child is unwell and needs something as simple as 5mL of calpol which the school cannot give without the prescription!! Shameful... thank you all, making working parents lives easier
