About: Good Hope Hospital / Accident & emergency

I was referred to A+E by my doctor due to a Bartholin's cyst that had turned into an abscess. The receptionist was lovely and kind and sent me to majors with my letter from my GP. A+E was very busy but by the time they got to me they had already arranged my transfer to ward two - excellent work! Upon my arrival, everything was sorted, two doctors came and saw me and stated I needed to go to theatre to sort the issue out and found me a bed. All staff were wonderful and attentive. Being a student nurse myself, I could not fault anything. Went down to theatre the next day - again seamless care! Outstanding! You're all amazing - one big bear i have with GHH, why can't I find a form to actually put compliments on and there are only forms for complaints? Please make it easier for people to compliment excellent care!

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding the care and treatment you received at Good Hope Hospital.

It is lovely to read such positive comments and I am pleased that you had such a good patient experience, although you had to undergo a surgical procedure.

I am sorry that you were unable to find a form so that you could compliment the staff and the service.

All wards and departments have Friends and Family cards, ‘Tell us what you think about our service’ booklets and posters advertising how you can provide feedback about your experience.

I shall forward your posting to the senior management teams and ask that it is shared with the staff, as I am sure they will be delighted to read your comments.

I will also ask that they ensure they have a supply of the cards and booklets available.
