I have visited hospital several times during my pregnancy given numerous previous miscarriages. Maternity staff had zero empathy to my past and increased level of anxiousness with this pregnancy. NHS might be overstretched but a warm words, love and care goes a long way. Sadly majority of their staff is unable to do so to go that extra mile which shouldn’t be an effort to them if they would genuinely care about their patients and were passionate about their jobs.
Level of organization and coordination is very poorly, waited hours couple of times to be seen in a Maternity Day unit just to be met with little interest and not listed to.
And the most saddened experience is with a home midwife care team. It is a tick box exercise for them, they lack empathy, care for their patients and most importantly they don’t listen. It’s all about them and their feelings and egos, for a moment they don’t stop and think they are here for expectant mothers, let’s give them support they need.
"Lack of care and compassion"
