I attended Hollybank ward at Cannock Chase hospital for a minor procedure. I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who confirmed all of my details very efficiently. I was then asked to wait for a very short while until one of the HCSW from the ward took myself and two others onto the main ward.
We were then put into little rooms for the admission process which was calm and efficient but very friendly. Mine was conducted by sr Deborah and a student nurse called Gaide. I was consented and marked by the surgeon at the same time.
Everything was clear and concise and I was put at ease. I was then shown where to get changed and made ready for theatre and sat in a waiting room. I was collected by a very pleasant Theatre support worker whose name I didn't catch, but that was my fault as I was distracted by my phone. All checks completed I was taken into theatre where I was greeted by all of the staff individually, Lisa, Mandy, Sid and Dave. This was a very pleasant experience in a very clean hospital. Whilst I am used to this procedure, others might not be and the care given will put anyone at their ease
