My mother was admitted to a&e and received excellent care, then unfortunately transferred to Oxborough Ward
Some staff there are excellent , thank you so much fabulous night staff, but the daytime organisation is dreadful.
Consultants requests are not followed up, even to the extent of important drugs being missed for an entire day despite repeated " reminders" by relatives.
Oral medicines dispensed twice despite the patient being unresponsive and unable to swallow , does anyone read notes ? Prescribed tamiflu, not given as apparently not available as liquid or I/v.
Staff member claimed mum allergic to warfarin, which she has taken for years with no problems
Oxygen eventually arrived, nasal tube in place , setting correct but tank not switched on - rectified by visitor
Bed with air mattress ordered, received by the Ward but patient not moved onto it despite being at high risk of pressure sores
I do appreciate that the staff are very busy but feel upset and disheartened by the lack of organisation and communication, leading to a poor hospital experience by an extremely poorly patient.
