"My appointment at fracture clinic"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

On arriving 10 mins before my appointment so as to not pay to much parking! ! ! after booking in took seat only to be told had to go for xray now if tbus had been put in my letter this would save me time so after xray which took 30 mins return to waiting room only to be met with loads of empty coffee cups on floor under seatting. But then you g into consultant room there a cup on floor under the seat this did wind me up people   just leaving cups on floors but I did notice no litter bins I think coffee cups should not be allowed in waiting   rooms or tell people to put empty's in bin so by the time I got out which had gone over the hour   had to pay more parking charge saying all this was treated well by nurse' and doctor Mr G K Singhania

Thank you for providing us with your feedback. I wish to respond to the points you have made.

With regards to the x-ray request this is often a decision made on the day by the Doctor following a vetting of the notes. I apologise if you felt this was inconvenient but it really is necessary to provide an on-the-day assessment.

With regards to the coffee cups – again I apologise you have witnessed this and I can assure you I will be speaking to the nursing team and asking them to monitor this during clinics. Yes, consultants are made hot drinks throughout the clinics however I am saddened to hear that you observed drinks being left on the floor. Again this issue will be raised.

I will check the bin availability in the department and make sure there is adequate provision for rubbish.

Unfortunately the parking charges are out of my hands but I am sorry if this added to the stress of your visit.

Thank you for the kind words you expressed about the nursing and medical team. They will be made aware of this feedback both the positive and the negative so we can action the lessons learnt.

thank Rebecca for your rely to my letter the doctor told me before I left I wold be having a x-ray next visit so will allow time for this

the coffee cups in the consultants room was not his but the person who sat in the chair I used thank you again for taking the time to write a response see you in a year all being well
