"Daughters surgery for grommets"

My daughter came in for her operation on the 24th of January, and everything leading up and until after she left was fantastic, it was my first experience of Sunderland Royal hospital, it was especially clean and tidy. Loved the fact that everything was done in a way that was to make it as stress free as possible for her (3 Yr old) even the fact we could order the hospital gown/pyjamas online and get her ready at home aswell as being able to put the magic cream on at home to so when we came into hospital it was a case of book ourselves in, let her play, have some calpol and down we went, both the doctor /surgeon and the anesthetist came and introduced themselves to us and although that surgeon didn't do the surgery the one who did came to introduce herself to us in the anesthetic room, the doctor and nurses in there were brilliant, playing pop the bubbles which had her in stitches and she went off to sleep laughing, it was mainly me who had the anxiety over it. Post care was brilliant, I was able to get on the bed with her and be wheeled back to the ward, and was given a picnic to eat, and by later on that day she was back to normal and so far she has been on top form, hospitals get a lot of stick for different things but they were amazing! Would give them 10/10.
