I was admitted prior to my caesarean due to placenta praevia and therefore was on the maternity ward for a week and a half beforehand.
In that time I found the midwives, health care assistants and doctors to be absolutely fantastic. I was kept informed, given choices, treated with upmost respect and dignity and was shown compassion and empathy throughout my time there.
The ward (M2) was spotless in terms of cleanliness; the floors, toilets, kitchen area were immaculate.
Even the food wasn't half bad (as a lot of people expect from the NHS)and meals were varied and nutritious.
I'd like to say a big thank you to the maternity unit and all the staff for making my 'being a patient' such a good experience.
"Outstanding maternity unit"
