My problem was first discovered by a test card from Dundee. The staff there made an appointment for me to attend St. John’s hospital in Livingston to have a Colonoscopy. Then I was sent to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for a CT and an MRI scan. I then had consultations at the Western General hospital with the team of Surgeons,Doctors and nurses who by this time had studied all the findings of the probes and scans and had formulated a plan to remove the tumour. After talking me thru’ all the stages of the lengthy operation and explaining various outcomes including the worst scenario, a date was set for the go ahead.
There was a lot of organising done on my behalf for which I am truly grateful, all of this took place in the space of six weeks from start to finish. The care and attention everyone displayed I never could have imagined. I am now on a regular check up to detect any reoccurrence should it arise.
My sincere thanks goes to all who saw me thru’ this life threatening experience, the Surgeon, Miss Din and Dr. Speak along with their colleagues. The Doctors and staff of the Oncology dept. I can’t praise all you wonderful people enough. Thank you.
