"Staff shortages"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Maternity

(as a service user),

I my opinion, staff shortages hamper the service provided. I.e left for prolonged periods on monitors as staff seem to be covering other departments.

On the ante-natal ward I waited over 5.5 hours to be transferred to the labour ward for ARM. Not entirely sure whether this is down to bed or staff shortages. This results in a backlog, as patients on ante-natal ward are taking up beds which could be made available for those in need.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of our maternity service. Please accept our apologies for any distress that was caused during your stay on the antenatal ward. I have shared your story with the antenatal ward manager Julie Gala but if you would like to contact me directly so that I can look into your concerns further please email me at:

Once again thank you.
