"Bladder biopsy 23 hour surgery"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

After months of various bladder issues, was scheduled for a biopsy and was quite certain that I had bladder cancer. I had travel plans made months before, and so I took a chance and called the Urology secretary to see if I could possibly get results earlier than scheduled. She kindly passed on my message to the Urology Nurse who called me later the same day, which was a week after the biopsy, and told me that there was nothing sinister and a letter would be sent to my GP and to go ahead with my plans. This was so greatly appreciated in these times of overworked staff and overloaded system.

AS well, on the day, the anesthesiologist was very thorough in her pre-op visit and as a result, I was not sick or terribly muddled in Recovery--a first!
