my 12 year old son was very well treated by the hospital staff when he had his eye procedure to correct a squint and became very confused and scared under ketamine sedation.
He found it very distressing but the staff in the recovery room and the childrens ward were so helpful and calming to him the same as they were when he went in very apprehensive to have a subsequent squint surgery on his eye.
The anesthetist was very calming and reassured him that he would not feel the same way this time.
The surgeon is also a very informative and friendly and has an amazing manner with my son and made sure he felt comfortable with everything that was going to happen.
I cant imagine how scared he was to have stuff done to his eyes but i'm sure the impact was minimal considering the fantastic care he received.
