"Felt like I wasn’t being listened to."

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute) / Maternity care

The nurses & HCA ‘s are lovely & cannot fault them 1 bit. I was here a few days prior as per my midwife for a different reason. However, I went in with reduced movements (hadn’t felt baby all day & then the next day till lunch - l her usual pattern - it was like she was sluggish & I could count on 2 hands how many times if felt her in nearly 1.5 days) I tried the usual water & laying on my side, bath, coke & sugary sweets nothing worked, so went in. I told the dr I still wasn’t happy with movements to be told it was normal for how many weeks I am - Baby was running out of room !!!! I got home & in 3 hours haven’t felt her move once...but hey the monitor showed “everything was ok!” And the scan I had a few days ago was fine...not like anything can change!

Doesn’t Give me much faith in this hospital!

We are really sorry to hear about your experience in our maternity unit.

We will pass your comments and feedback to our head of midwifery services and would ask that, if you do have any concerns, you contact your midwife or our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 01604 545784 and they will be able to help you.

Kind regards, NGH.
