"Marvellous Treatment"

About: East Surrey Hospital / General surgery

My wife has just completed a nine week stay and she received truly marvellous treatment from all staff be they paramedics, surgeons, doctors, sisters, nurses, HCAs or ancilliary staff such as hostesses and cleaners.

I am not allowed to thank individual members of staff here but a huge thank you to everyone in A&E, SAU, ITU (5 weeks), HDU (1 week) and Copthorne Ward (nearly 3 weeks) - I only hope you know who you are. My wife only survived her episode thanks to your dedication, care and support.

I personally wish to also thank the hospital for the open visiting policy that allowed our children and I to stay with her from dawn to dusk, as we could, and help you all as we were able. I just hope we didn't get in your way too much.

I hope you will forgive me if I say I hope I don't see you all again too soon!!!!!

It is always greatly appreciated when good practice is acknowledged and your kind feedback has been shared with the teams in A&E, SAU, ICU, HDU and Copthorne ward. Our medical and nursing teams always strive to provide high quality care and the best clinical outcomes for our patients, and we are so pleased we achieved this for your wife at such a difficult time. We recognise that the presence of family and friends can support the wellbeing and recovery of our patients and we are delighted to hear that you and your family felt welcome on the wards at all times of the day throughout your wife's admission.
