"Getting surgery for carpel tunnel"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Occupational Therapy Crosshouse Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a service user),

I had a brilliant experience leading up to my operation for carpel tunnel. . from going to see Gillian at occupational and therapy. . hand therapy dept. . Crosshouse. . This lady put my mind at ease by telling me exactly what to expect on getting my operation. . very lovely lady and so easy to talk to..I got a quick cancellation apt due to my circumstances as I have a 10 year old with special needs who needs my full attention and as the pain in my hand was so extreme I couldn't give her it ..got my 3 stitches out today and have never felt better..Also my surgeon. . Mr macleod at orthopaedics for putting me at ease whilst doing my surgery. . I wish more hospitals had people like them working in them.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear velazm48,

We don't always appreciate how difficult it can be when we don't have full use of our hands (until we have a problem with one). I am glad you got this all done and dusted as quickly and as nicely as possible. What a wonderful story and experience you have shared with us, thank you.

This has been passed to the teams, Gillian and Mr Macleod. I am sure you have made their day.

best wishes,

Eunice
