In October 2018 I had a review at Shepton Mallet Minor Injuries Unit. I was told I would need physiotherapy exercises. The Consultant started to demonstrate some that would be difficult for any patient to remember. I had to interrupt him to ask for a leaflet/hand-out specifically for rehabilitation for my injury. There were four staff in the room (though I wasn't told why). After discussion they decided that they had none.
I then asked could someone draw, or list the exercises. Eventually a staff member became concerned and disappeared for some time whilst I sat in a waiting room. He gave me a two sided hand-out for post carpel tunnel surgery, with half the graphics crossed out.
I was told by the Consultant that I would receive a letter from a physiotherapist within ten days offering an appointment.
After researching the exercises, frequency etc, I followed my own plan whilst awaiting the letter.
I never received an appointment. Having lost confidence in the service, I chose not waste my time chasing this, but use the internet instead...
