The HCAS and Nurses on this ward are amazing, if I could review the service they offer separately it would be full marks- they are kind and caring and I always feel listened to and repsected. I have for the past 6 months seen my nurse specialist every 4 weeks, she has been a great support. However today I saw my consultant for the second time, I was in and out in 5 minutes. Felt rushed and not included in decisions about my treatment- she was unkind and uncaring I was shocked at the way she tried to get me to leave constantly standing to Try and show me the door despite myself wanting to discuss and ask questions about my SLE. Each question i asked regarding new symptoms were dismissed as not related to my condition; despite myself knowing they are a direct cause. My consultant made it clear she wasn't interested and told me to go to my GP- my GP has told me to speak to consultant as symptoms are likely to be due to current lupus flare. I was then told I wouldn't be seen for 6 months without explanation- until now I was monthly reviewed by my nurse- I have had little response or improvement in my symptoms but the consultant didn't care less. I'm now stuck with no support for 6 months and nowhere to go as GP says other symptoms are SLE related- consultant says not.
Again I will say the nursing and hca are brilliant.
"Uncaring and unprofessional consultants."
