"Hand surgery"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

I stupidly stabbed myself in the hand with a kitchen knife. It went into my palm and cut into my nerve. All the staff that I looked after me have been absolutely fantastic. Even though the they were stretched to the limit and over capacity, 44 patients and only 33 beds, they delivered excellent care.

The only improvement needed is the budget the NHS is allocated. These professionals work so hard and it astounds me that they are so kind and understanding to patients with all the overcrowding and budget cuts.

Thank you so much to everyone that looked after me. We are so lucky to have such an amazing ‘free’ health service.

Dear Sally Sore Hand

Thank you for taking the time to post in Care Opinion about your recent visit to the Day Surgery Unit, its reassuring to read that despite the daily challenges within the NHS the care you received was absolutely fantastic. The nursing staff work hard to make sure each patient is looked after individually and all there care requirements are met. And yes we are lucky to have an amazing health service.

I will pass your comments on to the staff who will certainly appreciate them

Wishing you well in your recovery

Nola
