About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Endoscopy and day care Queen Margaret Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

I have recently undergone the above procedures at Queen Margaret, Dunfermline and Forth Valley Royal, Larbert, hospitals respectively.

I was impressed by the capability and helpfulness of the staff at both hospitals and how they were able to help you relax through the novel (at least to me) experience. The professionalism with care and humour was good.

I think it would be helpful if the gowns used had a velcro fastening rather than tying a tape. I also thought it would be helpful if the disposable shorts and changing cubicles at QMH could be introduced to Forth Valley Royal.

Hi Jim Bob56,

Firstly many thanks for taking the time for providing us with some valuable feedback regarding your procedures. We are delighted to hear that we have provided a professional service mixed with a bit of humour for your 'novel' procedure and that you were able to feel relaxed, both here in Forth Valley and Fife.

With regard to your suggestion of gowns with Velcro, I will raise your issue with the relevant department and make sure they are aware of your comments.

With regard to the dignity shorts provided at Queen Margaret Hospital, we also have a stock of them here at Forth Valley and you should have been offered a pair to put on. I apologise that you have not been offered some to wear however I will speak to the staff and ensure that we are continuing to offer them to all patients.

With regard to the specific changing room and waiting areas at Queen Margaret Hospital, unfortunately logistics prevent us from having specific changing cubicles at Forth Valley, however we do ensure that patients are provided privacy to get changed and maintain their dignity.

Finally thanks again for your comments and I will ensure that the staff at Queen Margaret receive your thanks as well.

Kind Regards

Craig
