My mother has been in and out of this hospital this year, She is a deaf lady who can lip read a little but main communication is to read, I have told the hospital time and time again 3-4 times a day when I have been there, she gets to embarrassed to say she can't hear them, So I say she can't hear and the staff ignore me and continue to verbally tell her, she then has to wait for me to explain to her what is going on, when she has asked Drs to write things down they have either ignored her and on one occasion walk out of the room and didn't come back leaving her confused.
Their has been no respect or dignity given to my mum at all at this hospital, on one occasion they transferred my mum to a different town not telling anyone they moved her, and when I saw my mum she was so scared of what was going on. I work for a different NHS Hospital and feel proud of the work we do on my ward I look at the difference between the 2 and feel so angry.
