"Day surgery steroid rod put in eye"

About: Hospital Of St Cross / Ophthalmology

The care of staff at Rugby was excellent. The Surgeon said a check of the operation was required 6/7 days after and did not make this appointment but told my wife to call for an appointment. I raised the issue that

Cov hospital will say there are no appointments. Well surprise siurprise now eight days later no check up no returned calls for an appointment after being offered late Jan 2018.

Absolutely disgraceful treatment to a patient that needs their eye pressure checked following a surgical procedure.

Dear Mr Swain,

Thank you for leaving comments on NHS Choices.

While you were happy with the care you received at the Hospital of St Cross, I was sorry to hear about your experience contacting the Eye Clinic for a follow-up check.

I do hope that you have been able to make an appointment now.

If this isn't the case, I would urge you to contact the Eye Clinic on 024 7696 6606.

Alternatively, you may wish to speak to our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) team about your experience.
