What could be improved

midwives in birthing suit were smoking whilst on shift so during labour every time the midwife returned to the room all i could smell was cigarets and yet the NHS advice in not to let a baby under six months be around someone who has smoked within 2 hours.

i was left over an hour before being checked fighting against pushing to be examined and told i was ready to push - i knew that already, i could feel it but noone would examine me or let me.

on the post natal ward, due to problems with babies latch, i needed to express and cup feed my baby but the nurs/midwife didnt ask if she minded me feeding my baby and just did it and i felt that moment was stolen from me to be able to nurture her in her first few hours.

i was sick throughout my pregnancy and talk to every midwife or doctor i came accross but no body looked into it. two weeks ago i was diognosed with gallstones and talking to other people who have had this i believe that this contributed to my ill health. i was made to feel like a hypocondriact when in actual fact i do have a medical problem. now i am being passed around and noone is giving me answers or assigning me to a surgeon. i have been told i need my gallbladder out but have only found out today that no doctor has bothered to follow this up. after speaking to my doctors surgery i have been told to leave it a couple of days before chasing up the hospital myself. i feel neglected and desperate for answers. i am in pain on and off and have to care for a baby and noone has the decentcy to treat me with the respect of making sure my health is passed on to the correct department.Follow upGallstonesPatient careGeneral surgeryDoctorsMidwifeSurgeonsOpening hoursBabies
