"Alcohol support"

About: Inclusion Visions Thurrock (Drug & Alcohol Recovery Service)

(as a service user),

I found the service to be very friendly and welcoming - the support I have got from my keyworker (Kelly and Pete) and other staff have got me through some difficult times and has helped me to be more active in the community.

I am more social and this helps me to reduce my drinking levels and behaviours

My confidence has improved and the plan set out by my keyworker helps me to stay focussed and motivated.

My whole perspective has changed since I have come into service for support.

One thing that could be improved is if there were more recovery walks.

Hi there

Really good to hear from you and It's so good to see how much things have changed for you with all your obvious hard work and openness to change. I hope others read this as it really shows how becoming more social and following plans and goals helps with your confidence and dealing with whatever the substance issue is.

Good to hear the your keyworker Kelly and Pete our lead mentor have supported you through some difficult times, I will pass that on to them.

You mentioned the Recovery Walks which are a recent addition to our programme. We have one coming up on December 21st at 11am (spread the word) and then we intend to run them on a monthly basis. If you have ideas about where you would particularly like them to take place please let us know.

In the meantime take care and thanks for sharing your story

Emer
